Remarks:

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a Corporal in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Private in Company G, 90th Pennsylvania Infantry for action on November 27 1863 at Mine Run, Virginia. His citation reads "Voluntarily extinguished the burning fuse of a shell which had been thrown into the lines of the regiment by the enemy."
